A country run by banks will always be in debt, because profit demands hunger and scarcity dressed in the costume of progress. Its people will dream in interest rates and die beneath the weight of compounding illusion.
A nation whose medicine is owned by big pharma will never cure disease, only treat symptoms as subscriptions. Wellness becomes a commodity, and healing a quarterly report. Pain is repackaged, renamed, and sold back to those already broken.
A state who funds their military industrial complex will never know peace, only the silence between drone strikes. It will export war like wheat, harvest bodies like crops, and call it stability. Diplomacy becomes performance, while budgets bleed into weapons dressed as security.
A nation run by media will never know the truth, only entertainment spliced with fear and distraction. Its stories will be filtered through algorithms and sponsors, truth diluted in the name of engagement. History will be edited live, and the present distorted in high definition.
Such a nation cannot be free, because its soul is mortgaged to illusions. The people will argue over crumbs, trained to distrust not just each other but their own instincts. Ideals will be marketed, revolutions televised, dissent commodified and controlled. The gods of greed, fear, and spectacle will hold court in the hearts of the disoriented. Hope will flicker, but be taxed, monitored, and quietly anesthetized.
