My unrequited love to God

Updated: Jul 2

I love You with the ache of dry rivers longing for rain. I reach for You in silence, in shadow, in stillborn prayers that never stir the stars. You who are vast and holy and hidden, do not turn toward me.I have knelt in the dust and whispered Your name until my voice cracked with hunger. But You do not whisper mine.

I build altars out of my longing, offering the best of me: my faith, my fire, my ruin.I have waited beneath Your sky like a lover under a closed window.

Even the wind seems more chosen than I. Your miracles pass me by like strangers brushing sleeves on a crowded street.Still I look up, stubborn with devotion, bruised with hope.

I do not ask to be chosen, only seen. I do not demand embrace, only presence. But You remain the holy absence, the silent sanctuary. And still, I love You without promise, without return, without reason.

Because even the unrequited deserve to worship.
