Looking for Yerushalyim

Updated: 5 days ago

3, 000 years with no place. Orbiting in the outer realm and reaches. Looking for his presence, looking for his protection, looking for his promised land. Looking for his Yerushalayim—for refuge and peace.

In Hebrew, Jerusalem is written as Yerushalayim (יְרוּשָׁלַיִם). The name is traditionally interpreted as a combination of two words: "Yireh" (יִרְאֶה), meaning "the Lord will see" or "the Lord will provide," and "Shalem" (שָׁלֶם), meaning "peace" or "complete". Therefore, Jerusalem is often understood to mean "the Lord will see peace" or "the Lord will provide peace". Some interpretations also suggest it could mean "a place of peace" or "the foundation of peace.

Three thousand years we have drifted, dust on the breath of the outer dark.

Our bones remember You, even when our eyes grow blind with longing. We seek the shadow of Your wings, the soil You promised, the place where sorrow breaks. Gather us, O Ancient One, to our Yerushalayim that we may finally lay down our wandering.
